With nearly 96% of the Costa Rican population
having the ability to read, Costa Rica’s literacy rate is much closer
to that of Western European nations than most other Latin American countries.
The government supports a free and public education and has long dedicated
a significant portion of the national budget to enhance the minds and
bodies of its citizens.
This policy fosters a knowledgeable
and healthy population, which when added to the abundance of natural amenities,
creates the right business environment to attract world class companies,
first class resorts and a higher class of vacationers – many who decide
to make Costa Rica their primary residence.
